March 4th is International GMs/DMs Day, a time to show appreciation for the storytellers, world-builders, and rule arbiters who make our tabletop adventures unforgettable. Whether they craft rich, immersive worlds, keep us on the edge of our seats with wild plot twists, or simply wrangle our chaos into a campaign, they deserve our gratitude. So today, we raise our tankards and roll our dice in honor of the heroes behind the screen - our Game Masters and Dungeon Masters!🎲
And in true adventurer spirit, we’re launching a contest to let you tell the world why your GM is the GOAT! And, of course, there’s treasure to be won!🎁
The Contest: Praise Your GM, Win the Loot!
We invite you to enter the contest by sharing your love for your GM/DM in the ways described below. Choose your quest, craft your tale, and submit your entry for a chance to win!
👑 Why is My GM the GOAT – Share a short story about why your GM is the best. Funny, emotional, or downright legendary - let us know what makes them unforgettable!
🎉 Legendary GM Moments – Recall your favorite in-game moment orchestrated by your GM. Whether it was a brilliant plot twist, a hilarious NPC, or a last-minute ruling that saved the day, we want to hear it!
🫂 GM Appreciation Post – Write a heartfelt letter thanking your GM for their dedication. Be it sincere, creative, or comedic, let them know how much they mean to you.
❤️ GM Love in 10 Words! Can you sum up why your GM is amazing in exactly 10 words? Short but impactful, the most creative entries win!

No contest is a contest without a prize. And this prize is sure to tantalize any Foundry VTT user!🥳
The winner will receive a $50 gift card to The Forge. This gift card can be used toward a new or active subscription on The Forge, or toward purchasing content on the Bazaar, our marketplace for Foundry VTT content.

You can submit your entry on any of those platforms, but only on one of them, and you must follow us on that platform to qualify.
We encourage everyone to enter. This is a celebration of the love, effort, and creativity that GMs pour into our games, so don’t hold back!
Contest Duration and Selection
The contest begins on Tuesday, February 25th, immediately after this post, and ends on Tuesday, March 4th, International GMs Day, at 11:59 PM EST.
The winner will be announced and contacted via their method of entry shortly after. Make sure to get your content in before the deadline!
The winner will be an "editor’s choice", selected by The Forge team based on creativity, passion, and storytelling.
Other Terms and Conditions
- The contest is open to all individuals aged 18 years or older at the time of entry, excluding employees of The Forge, and their immediate family members.
- Only one entry is allowed per person.
- All content created for the contest must include some writing, with a minimum of 10 words or more.
- Any entry deemed inappropriate, offensive, or in violation of these terms will be disqualified at The Forge's discretion.
- The winner gives a license to The Forge to use the content they submitted for promotional or commercial purposes.
