Somewhere in the Transylvanian hinterlands, a group of backpackers has wandered onto unholy ground. Unfortunately, they are not alone. 🎃
We’re happy to introduce ReVAMP, a new Halloween game built with BGK.
The game supports one to six players in total. One player takes on the role of the Vampire, while the remaining players become the Humans. The Humans have until daybreak to evade the tricks and traps of a vicious bloodsucking count.
It is a one-vs-many hidden-movement game about predator and prey, where ordinary heroes must work together to survive while their sly tormentor tries to bleed them dry. 🧛
🦇 What is ReVAMP?
In ReVAMP, the Vampire and the Humans have very different goals.
The Humans need to move quickly between Scenes, use their Skills, and avoid the Vampire’s traps until sunrise. They also need to keep an eye on the passing Hours and avoid bleeding too much, or they may attract the Vampire’s Brood.
The Vampire, meanwhile, is trying to lure the Humans into Bloody Traps. Once enough Bloody Traps have been triggered, the Vampire’s Brood will feast on all the Humans, and the Vampire wins. 🩸
It is a game of hidden movement, careful choices, and trying to work out what the other side is planning. The Humans need to support one another and keep moving, while the Vampire waits for the right moment to strike.
🎲 How a round works
Each round, both sides advance their objectives little by little. The Humans are trying to reach sunrise, while the Vampire is working towards the Brood’s goal.
The game uses several phases to move the night forward:
- Scenes Are Selected
- Traps Are Set
- Rewards Are Selected
- Traps Are Sprung
- The Bell Tolls
The Humans use their Scene Cards and Skills to avoid danger and keep one step ahead. The Vampire also uses Scheme Cards to keep the Humans under pressure.
The Hour and Brood counters track how the night is progressing. Whoever advances their counter to the Septagram space first reaches their goal and wins the game.
🌅 Who will make it to sunrise?
The Humans win by advancing their objective to the Septagram space before the Vampire does.
The Vampire wins by triggering enough Bloody Traps for the Brood to feast on all the Humans.
Every round brings the Humans closer to safety or closer to becoming the Vampire’s next victims. They will need to move quickly, manage their Blood Tokens, and decide when it is worth taking a risk.
