October is here, which means it is time to make things a little darker, a little stranger, and hopefully a lot more fun.
This year, Halloween is coming to The Forge with seasonal website decorations, pumpkin carving, spooky Bazaar finds, and a new mini-game from the BGK team. Whether you are preparing a full horror one-shot or simply adding a haunted side quest to your regular campaign, there should be something here to make your next session feel a little more cursed.
A spooky makeover for The Forge 🕷️
If you visit The Forge during October, you may notice that things look a little different. The usual interface has had a seasonal makeover, with Halloween decorations appearing throughout the site.
The decorations should not interfere with your games, but they should make opening The Forge feel a bit more festive this season. Keep an eye out while you are setting up your next session. You might spot something that was not there before. 👀
Get creative with Pumpkin Carving 🎃
Pumpkin Carving is also back for the Halloween season. If you have not tried it yet, this is a good excuse to make something wonderfully lopsided, surprisingly detailed, or just slightly alarming.
You do not need to be an artist, and you definitely do not need to carve the perfect pumpkin. The fun is in seeing what everyone comes up with. Share your creation with the community if you are happy with it, or especially if it goes completely wrong. 🤭
Bring some spooky content to your next session 👻
Halloween is a good excuse to run a horror one-shot, send your players into an abandoned building, or introduce an NPC who is being far too helpful. You can also keep things simple: dim the lights, add some unsettling music, and let the players wonder whether that sound behind them was part of the plan.
The Bazaar has plenty of content to help set the mood, from haunted locations and eerie battlemaps to monsters, tokens, adventures, and soundscapes. We will be highlighting a selection of spooky packages throughout October on our social channels, so there is no need to search through everything at once. 😉
Whether you are looking for a setting for a Halloween one-shot or just one unsettling room to drop into an ongoing campaign, a few well-chosen details can go a long way.

The game is still in development, but we are aiming to release it later this month. Keep an eye on our social channels for the announcement when it goes live.

A Spooky October from The Forge 🍬
Halloween is a great time to try something different at the table. Run a game with a completely unreasonable number of ghosts. Give the party a mysterious door and see how long it takes them to open it. Let the suspicious shopkeeper survive the whole adventure for once.
However you celebrate, we hope you have a fun October, a few memorable rolls, and at least one moment when the entire table agrees that this was definitely not part of the plan.
