Greetings, Forge community!
Halloween is almost here, and we had plenty of spooky things to talk about in our latest Developer Update livestream. We took another look at the Halloween fun happening around The Forge, introduced a new game from the BGK team, caught up on V14, and highlighted a few great packages from The Bazaar.
If you missed the livestream, don’t worry – we’ll be posting the full recording on YouTube soon. In the meantime, here is a quick recap.
Halloween at The Forge
October has given The Forge a seasonal makeover, and we hope you have enjoyed seeing the Halloween decorations around the site. If you have not already, take a look around while setting up your next game. You may spot a spider or two. 🕷️🕸️
We also gave Pumpkin Carving another mention during the livestream. It is a simple way to make something spooky, silly, detailed, or wonderfully lopsided, so give it a try and share your creation with us.

Of course, Halloween is also a great excuse to add something unsettling to your next session. The Bazaar has plenty of maps, tokens, adventures, and other content to help set the mood for a horror one-shot, a haunted side quest, or a regular game that has suddenly become much stranger.
If you would like to see more of what is happening this season, you can also read our earlier post, The Halloween Spirit Has Arrived at The Forge.
Happy Halloween from The Forge!
Meet reVAMP, a New BGK Game
We have presented reVAMP, a new game made with BGK.
In reVAMP, a group of unlucky backpackers has wandered onto unholy ground in the Transylvanian hinterlands. They have until daybreak to escape the tricks and traps of a vicious bloodsucking count, while one player takes on the role of the Vampire. It is a game of hidden movement, prediction, and trying to survive together while the Vampire hunts.
The Humans secretly choose scenes inspired by Bram Stoker’s novel to visit. The Vampire must work out where they are going and catch them before sunrise.

reVAMP is built with BGK’s own components and does not use scripting. That is part of the point: it shows another way BGK can be used, with players managing the rules and interactions much as they would around a physical board game table. Design Mode will also let curious players explore how the game was put together.
The game is live and free to play NOW in the BGK Game Library. Enjoy!
BGK is still in beta, and we are looking for people who are interested in designing games, creating prototypes, or simply playing and playtesting board games online. It is free to join and try, so if that sounds like you, join the BGK Beta Discord server, explore the platform, and share your feedback. You can also get in touch with the team at [email protected].
Game Environments
We also showed off some of the work happening with Game Environments.
During the demo, we updated a default Foundry VTT V14 environment and installed Dice So Nice for it. We then switched to a V13 environment and installed and updated the Lancer system, Lancer Weapon FX, and Annoying’s Lancer Alternative Sheets.
Launching both environments made the difference clear. The V14 D&D 5e environment had Dice So Nice available, while the V13 Lancer environment had the Lancer-specific system, modules, and versions it needed. It was a useful look at how Game Environments can keep the right setup for the right game, and allow users to enjoy older versions and systems, while still enjoying the newest Foundry VTT features and adventures.
V14 on The Forge
Last time, Eranziel joined us to talk about the path to V14 on The Forge: what happens when Foundry Gaming starts releasing a new major version, why a version can be available before it is recommended, and the work that happens behind the scenes before it is ready for everyone. You can watch that interview, The Path to V14 on The Forge, on our YouTube channel.
This time, we had a shorter V14 update. V14 Build 368 and V14 Build 369 are now available on The Forge.
Bazaar Showcase
We also took some time to highlight a few packages available on The Bazaar. This month’s selection is perfect for a science-fiction adventure with a darker edge or for anyone who would like to add more detail to a cyberpunk, horror, or modern game.
A Day at the Space Station by A Day At

Cyberpunk 12a — Ghouls by PeaPu

Computers and Terminals by Mad Wizard

And a free package: GM Screen by quite a few maintainers, but currently mainly Samullopez

Forge Gift Card Giveaway
As usual, we gave away a $20 Forge Gift Card during the livestream. It can be used toward a Forge subscription or for purchases on The Bazaar. Thank you to everyone who joined in! 💚
