We are proud to announce that V13 is now available on The Forge! We explain what this means for you and your games below.

Do I have to update immediately?

No. You are not required to update your Foundry VTT version, and we would not recommend updating until/unless your required systems and modules are compatible with V13.

The Forge also recommends waiting until V13 is marked as recommended on our service's release channel, in case there are any issues we missed prior to its initial release on The Forge. This will likely occur within a few weeks after V13's initial release on The Forge.

How do I prepare for updating?

As noted in that article, always make a backup before updating. We always recommend backing up all of your content before updating, as newer Foundry VTT version updates are generally one-way for your worlds and other user data. Do you recommend updating?

We recommend updating to V13 when it is moved to the recommended channel in our releases on The Forge. Generally, we always recommend using the latest version of Foundry VTT in the recommended version channel, as newer versions will almost always include greater security, stability, and the coolest new features to the base Foundry VTT experience.
